Moulsecoomb Primary asks for Ofsted to return to prove they are now good

A SCHOOL fighting against being turned into an academy has asked to be inspected to show it has improved.

Campaigners are calling for Ofsted to return to Moulsecoomb Primary in Brighton.

Parents and staff have been campaigning to stop the school from being forced by the Government to join a multi-academy trust after being rated “inadequate.”

Three possible sponsor trusts have all withdrawn from the process.

Campaigners hope Ofsted will return and see the school has improved, leading to Secretary of State for Education Gavin Williamson revoking the academy order.

Last month a motion was passed by Brighton and Hove City Council, to call on Ofsted to return. Councillor Kate Knight said: “For too long now Moulsecoomb Primary has been working under the cloud of uncertainty about its future. We urge the Secretary of State to delay making a decision on yet another sponsor, without first considering the evidence of progress that we believe a further visit from Ofsted will provide.”
